As the Interim Chief Information Officer, I collaborate with our business leaders to envision, develop and execute the company’s global IT strategy to drive profitable growth and achieve the company’s goals.

Background

Tell us a little bit about your career journey before joining RGP.
I have spent the past 15 years working at Roland DGA as their CIO & VP of Operations where I drove technology-based initiatives across all departments that increased sales, lowered costs, and improved operating efficiencies. During my time at Roland, we were able to transform most of their systems, including CRM, WMS, ERP, Web, data analytics and workflow automation systems. We were also able to create a culture that resulted in Roland being awarded seven “Top Orange County Workplace” awards. Prior to Roland, I worked at a communications company developing software. My career started in designing high-speed computers for a defense contractor.

Education
I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from California State University of Fullerton (CSUF) and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Digital Signal Processing from the University of Southern California (USC).

Goals and Inspirations

What inspires you?
I love to work with teams who passionately solve business problems to transform how the company operates.

What is a goal you have your eyes set on?
A personal goal is to exercise three times a week for the next year. A professional goal is to gain knowledge & perspective by engaging in two learning/networking events per month.

What does success in your role look like?
Successfully lead the effort to transform RGP’s business systems to better serve our employees & clients while also supporting increased revenue and profitability.

The people we work with and serve are the most important. The processes and technology we use are the tools to perform more effectively.

As a leader, these are the values that I live. I strive to model and reflect these values in my daily interactions with co-workers and clients.

YOU beyond RGP

How do you spend your time outside of work?
Spending time with family and friends is my highest priority. I am also very involved with my church. My current hobbies include cycling (road and mountain), golf, and reading.

Name three words that describe you.
Loyal, dedicated and analytical.

Do you have any skills or secret talents that most people don’t know about?
I’m passionate about water skiing and can successfully complete a slalom course.

What charities or social causes are you passionate about?
My wife and I support a wide variety of charity organizations, one of which is “Wings of Hope” that helps underprivileged children attend school in Zambia. Highlights of my service activities include two trips to Guatemala to build houses, custom-fit wheelchairs for the disabled, and distribute food & clothing to those in need. I have also spent a week repairing damage to houses in New Orleans through Samaritan’s Purse.

I have served on non-profit boards as President of the Board for Eagle Ridge Camps and President of the Board at my local church.

Is there anything else about you that you would like people to know?
My wife and I love to travel, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a trip overseas.
