About This Role

We are looking for an Accounting Functional UAT / QA Consultant to support a financial services organization in the validation of accounting automation and financial systems.

This role combines strong accounting knowledge with functional testing and UAT expertise. The successful candidate will validate end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring that transactions, journal entries, reversals, adjustments, accruals, reconciliations, reports, and financial data are accurate, complete, and aligned with business rules and accounting requirements.
You will work closely with Accounting, Tax, Operations, Finance, and Technology teams to identify issues, analyze discrepancies, validate solutions, and support release readiness with complete and audit-ready evidence.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Controllership, General Ledger, Financial Systems, UAT, or Functional QA professional who understands accounting processes and can translate business requirements into effective test scenarios.

What You Will Work On

  • Participate in UAT and functional testing of accounting and tax automation solutions from a Finance and Accounting perspective.
  • Analyze business requirements, accounting flows, business rules, and controls to develop comprehensive test scenarios.
  • Design and execute test cases covering standard transactions, journal entries, reversals, adjustments, accruals/periodifications, month-end close, and exception scenarios.
  • Validate accounting entries, including debit/credit logic, accounts impacted, amounts, accounting dates, currencies, references, and required attributes.
  • Perform reconciliations between source systems, subledgers/auxiliaries, and General Ledger (GL) and investigate discrepancies.
  • Validate data for completeness, accuracy, integrity, consistency, uniqueness, and timeliness.
  • Test financial reports and data layouts, including fields, business rules, totals, subtotals, aggregations, filters, currencies, and period cutoffs.
  • Maintain clear traceability between requirements, test cases, execution results, defects, retesting, and approvals.
  • Document testing evidence in an organized, reproducible, and audit-ready manner.
  • Log, monitor, and follow up on defects using tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
  • Partner with Accounting, Tax, Operations, and Technology teams to analyze root causes and validate fixes through retesting and regression testing.
  • Communicate unresolved differences, risks, control impacts, and potential accounting implications to relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to UAT status reporting, test completion, defect assessment, and release/readiness recommendations.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Accounting, Controllership, Financial Systems, UAT, Functional Testing, QA, or a related function.
  • Strong practical knowledge of General Ledger, journal entries, reversals, adjustments, accruals/periodifications, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Hands-on experience validating accounting processes, financial data, reports, or automated solutions.
  • Experience performing reconciliations between source systems, subledgers/auxiliaries, and General Ledger.
  • Ability to investigate discrepancies, identify probable root causes, and communicate supported conclusions.
  • Experience designing and executing UAT or functional test cases and scenarios.
  • Strong understanding of test evidence, defect management, retesting, regression, and traceability.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reconciliation techniques.
  • Experience with Jira or similar defect/test management tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technology teams in a financial services environment.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft General Ledger (PSGL) or another enterprise financial ERP such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Experience supporting accounting or tax automation projects.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Power Query, or Power BI for data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, regulated environments, internal/external audit, or financial controls.
  • Familiarity with test management tools, requirements traceability matrices, and UAT governance.
  •  Advanced English, particularly for documentation and collaboration with global teams.
