About This Role
We are looking for an experienced UAT Functional Analyst with hands-on experience in PeopleSoft General Ledger (PSGL) to support the testing and validation of accounting and tax automation solutions.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of Finance, Accounting, Business Users, and Technology, ensuring that new solutions and enhancements meet functional requirements, business rules, data integrity, and accounting controls before they are released to production.
You will be responsible for designing and executing end-to-end UAT scenarios, validating accounting configurations and data, reconciling results against authorized sources, managing defects, and maintaining audit-ready testing evidence.
The ideal candidate combines strong functional knowledge of PeopleSoft GL with solid UAT/QA experience, accounting understanding, data analysis capabilities, and strong stakeholder management skills.
What You Will Work On
Design and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for accounting and tax automation solutions impacting PeopleSoft General Ledger (PSGL).
Analyze functional requirements, business rules, solution designs, and acceptance criteria to translate them into comprehensive and verifiable test scenarios.
Develop detailed UAT test plans covering positive, negative, exception, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Validate PeopleSoft GL configurations and accounting data, including:
Accounting catalogs.
Open and closed periods.
ChartFields and accounting combinations.
Templates.
Historical balance loads.
Prepare, control, and validate test data required for UAT execution.
Execute functional tests in PSGL and document expected versus actual results with appropriate supporting evidence.
Validate interfaces, accounting entries, balances, outputs, and reports generated by the solution.
Perform reconciliations between PSGL results and authorized source files, queries, or independent controls.
Validate accounting and regulatory reports, including R01 when applicable.
Build and maintain a complete requirements-to-test traceability matrix, linking requirements, test cases, evidence, defects, re-tests, and approvals.
Identify, document, and manage defects using JIRA or an equivalent defect management tool.
Work with Technology and business teams to assess defect severity, priority, impact, root causes, and resolution.
Execute re-tests and regression testing following defect resolution.
Identify risks, dependencies, data-quality issues, and blockers and escalate them with clear impact and recommendations.
Prepare UAT status reporting covering test coverage, execution progress, defects, approval rates, risks, and overall release readiness.
Maintain organized and audit-ready testing evidence, including screenshots, queries, output files, reconciliations, and test results.
Act as a functional bridge between Finance, Accounting, Business Users, Technology, and solution owners.
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years of professional experience in Functional Analysis, QA/UAT, Business Analysis, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft General Ledger (PSGL) and the ability to navigate and validate functional GL processes.
- Proven experience designing and executing UAT and functional testing, including test cases, acceptance criteria, test plans, and traceability matrices.
- Practical knowledge of:
- Accounting data and configurations.
- Accounting catalogs.
- Accounting combinations.
- Open/closed periods.
- Templates.
- Historical balance loads.
- GL transactions and balances.
- Experience validating accounting reports and performing reconciliations between PSGL and source information.
- Experience managing defects through JIRA or an equivalent tool.
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliations, cross-checks, and test-result management.
- Ability to create clear and complete testing documentation and maintain audit-ready evidence.
- Experience working with both Finance/Accounting and Technology teams.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or other highly controlled environments is preferred.
- Nice to Have
- Experience with PeopleSoft Query Manager.
- Knowledge of R01 or comparable accounting/regulatory reporting.
- Working knowledge of SQL for independent data queries and validation.
- Experience using Power BI for test-result analysis, reporting, or monitoring.
- Experience testing accounting or tax automation solutions and integrations into General Ledger.
- Experience with accounting interfaces, data migrations, or historical balance loads.
- Intermediate or advanced English for documentation and collaboration with global teams.
