Our client needed to assess a newly acquired portfolio company’s current IT system environment to determine potential investment requirements to support strategic growth.

Acting as trusted advisors, RGP tapped into our deep IT systems expertise and hands-on experience to develop a future-state perspective our client hadn’t considered for a new acquisition including identifying risks and opportunities for growth.

What We Did

  • Conducted more than a dozen key stakeholder meetings across 11 functions to understand each function’s business process, system requirements, and reporting needs.
  • Defined system issues for each function using business-impact and urgency scorecards to prioritize investments.
  • Assessed future-state business requirements. Determined system’s current gaps and risks as well as developed an IT system roadmap.
  • Documented and reported findings and recommendations to our Client and their portfolio company.


  • Recommended two key initiatives supporting future growth and providing an actionable IT plan, including cost estimates and resource requirements to support the investment business case.
  • Provided actionable steps for quick wins the portfolio company could achieve in advance of—or in place of—key initiatives.
  • Earned trust as the Client’s go-to advisor and collaborated with them to understand their priorities and needs.
