About This Role
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist for our south suburban manufacturing client. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for approximately 1,800 employees across North America. This position requires a hands-on payroll professional with strong experience in ADP Vantage and the ability to manage multiple payroll cycles in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Work On
- Process multiple weekly payrolls across both hourly and salary employee populations, including Canada.
- Utilize ADP Vantage to manage payroll transactions, employee updates, earnings, deductions, taxes, and reporting activities.
- Review payroll data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and research and resolve payroll-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local payroll regulations, company policies, and tax requirements.
- Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and other stakeholders to support employee lifecycle changes affecting payroll.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external requirements.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll processes with a high level of customer service.
- Support year-end payroll activities, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Recommend process improvements and help maintain efficient payroll operations.
What You Will Bring
- 3+ years of payroll experience, including high-volume payroll processing.
- Hands-on expertise with ADP Vantage is required.
- Experience processing U.S. payroll, with working knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to audit, reconcile, and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Knowledge of federal, state, provincial, and local payroll laws.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively in a hybrid setting.
