The Challenge

Our client, a leading global biopharmaceutical company, needed to implement a global ERP system across more than 20 markets. This implementation required the involvement of local subject matter experts (SMEs) who had business and technical expertise in finance, sales, distribution, and production. These experts also needed to understand their respective country’s business practices and legal requirements to ensure these were incorporated into the global ERP template setup.

What We Did

To address this challenge, we engaged RGP subject matter experts with extensive ERP knowledge and experience for the client’s markets in Turkey, Thailand/Singapore, and Argentina.

Our approach included:

  • Collaboration with Local Teams: We worked closely with local teams to facilitate the analysis phase. This involved understanding local requirements and identifying discrepancies with the global ERP template
  • Gap Analysis and Design: Partnering with the global design team, we identified high-level gaps between local requirements and the global ERP setup. Our experts took on the hands-on responsibility of writing complex functional designs to address these gaps
  • Technical Liaison: We liaised with technical teams, including ABAP programmers based in India and Manila, to ensure the seamless integration of the functional designs into the ERP system

Our Impact

RGP functioned as an extension of the client’s global team, providing local and regional expertise through our experienced professionals. This collaboration led to the successful integration of a new third-party logistics company into the ERP system. By leveraging our knowledge and experience, we facilitated the smooth rollout of the ERP system across the targeted markets, ensuring compliance with local business practices and legal requirements.
