The Challenge

To improve operational risk and address audit findings, the Client sought to establish a new program management oversight function within Operational Risk. RGP was engaged to help define and implement the function and operating model, develop necessary policy and procedure documentation, and train new hires across four main sub-teams. With RGP’s assistance, the Client successfully hired and trained new resources, created detailed desktop procedures for two assessments, and began executing the new function within four months.

What We Did

RGP deployed a team, led by the former Credit Suisse Global Head of Project Management Methodology, to help operationalize the Client’s new PMRO team. The team created internal procedures and supporting artifacts, leveraging best practices and interviews with the Client’s risk management resources. They authored a PMRO Policy detailing the function’s purpose, assessment processes, and roles. RGP also developed detailed process flows for each review and assessment, as well as comprehensive desktop procedures for two assessments. Additionally, RGP created controls, assessment questionnaires, and monitoring tools for the PMRO team.

Our Impact

RGP enabled the Client to assess PMO organizations, identify program management issues, and present a coordinated risk review plan to regulators.
