The Challenge

To enhance business resiliency and reduce operational and IT risks, the Client sought to define and implement new workaround capabilities for mission-critical processes during technical disruptions. Audit findings revealed elevated risks within the payment ecosystem, and existing manual workarounds could not handle high volumes on processing days. To address this, the Client launched a program to integrate resiliency into the end-to-end payments process. RGP supported the Client by identifying potential disruption scenarios, assessing gaps in current workarounds, defining remediation strategies, and implementing solutions, including a new application, to ensure continued payment processing during disruptions.

What We Did

RGP deployed a team, led by the former Global Head of Program Management for Citi Enterprise Payments, to assist the client with establishing, rolling out, and managing the payments resiliency program. The team collaborated with key business stakeholders to assess current payment processes and workarounds, while designing the target state for potential technical disruption scenarios. This resulted in process flows, business requirements documentation, and wireframes to support the implementation of a new alternative payments system. RGP also facilitated the application’s production rollout by conducting user acceptance testing, developing operational procedures, and overseeing business validation during deployment.

Our Impact

RGP supported the client’s go-live of a resiliency application, developed UAT strategies, and set a gold standard for future requirements.
