The Challenge

Following a consumer and commercial bank’s acquisition announcement, the Client sought strategic merger integration advisory services, including execution support for the CIO function and oversight of the newly established Integration Merger Office (IMO). The Client also required expertise in managing merger integration risks to ensure the successful execution of key milestones. RGP provided executive and program-level support on the target state merger-integration operating model, organizational structures, technology conversion, employee change management, and risk mitigation strategies.

What We Did

RGP deployed a team of M&A experts, including the former CIO of Ally Bank and a Bank of America M&A tech transition executive, to support the executive team and consumer bank CIO function, overseeing the Integration Merger Office (IMO). Leveraging past merger experience, RGP improved the Client’s planning and execution for integrating processes, organizational functions, resource management, and staffing. RGP also enhanced the RAID Submissions process for effective IMO reporting and led Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) workshops to mitigate risks, including platform conversion and financial reporting integration.
