01.

The Challenge

Our Client, a large healthcare services provider, experienced significant acquired growth resulting in 8,000 + employees (400 IT staff)  and 70+ practices with minimal integration of policy, procedures, systems and tools.

The project sponsor, Sr. VP IT, wanted a supplier assessment and IT spend analysis validating the need to further reduce their supplier network and established an annualized IT spend baseline.

02.

What We Did

  • Created a multi-tiered Procurement Taxonomy to classify IT spend improving budgeting/forecasting and sourcing needs.
  • Captured ‘root-causes’ of supplier concerns – reducing the number of suppliers was a symptom, NOT the solution.
  • Identified strategic sourcing opportunities and realistic cost savings.
  • Defined core best practices to drive forward optimization within IT Procurement.

03.

Our Impact

In 10-weeks, we identified short-term solutions to bridge policy, process, and data gaps, and identify longer-term synergy opportunities enabling technology to deliver efficiencies and governance.
