The Challenge

The Client was transitioning to a new loan accounting system to replace their outdated mainframe system and needed help verifying the data integrity within the new system. RGP was tasked with comparing the new development database to the legacy production database to ensure a smooth transition. Using the Redgate Data Comparison tool and an internally developed Excel macro, RGP provided monthly comprehensive assessments of the data integrity until the system’s implementation, ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the process.

The Solution

RGP used the Redgate tool to compare data across the client’s development and production databases, ensuring integrity and consistency. The RGP team developed an Excel macro to transform Redgate’s output into a clear data quality assessment, quantifying the match percentage between the two databases. Additionally, RGP facilitated communication with the development team working on the new system, highlighting critical data issues uncovered by the Redgate analysis and emphasizing those that required immediate attention to ensure a smooth transition.

Our Impact

RGP expedited data quality issue resolution, enhanced transparency in data mapping, and prioritized key fields for strategic recommendations.
