The Challenge
The Client, undergoing a large-scale transformation of its core lending systems and services, sought to re-launch its Capability Management Office to address inefficient processes and shift focus from technology to business functions. RGP was engaged to provide strategic planning and execution support for this re-launch. RGP conducted a current state assessment, offering recommendations and a roadmap to achieve target state Capability Management operations. Additionally, RGP developed tools and training to equip the re-launched team to effectively perform capability assessments across the organization, leveraging business process and systems expertise to drive continuous improvement and ongoing management of business capabilities and supporting technology systems.

The Solution
RGP conducted a current state assessment of the Capability Management Office’s effectiveness, including employee surveys and a gap analysis. Based on this, RGP developed a target state operating model and framework, refining roles for Capability Managers, recommending interaction models, and creating a roadmap for upskilling and re-launching the team. The team also developed a Strategic Capability Assessment Framework and playbook for evaluating underperforming capabilities, identifying pain points, comparing practices to industry standards, and prioritizing initiatives to reduce costs and drive efficiencies. The framework included a toolkit with Scorecards, Customer Profiles, roadmaps, and templates. After the re-launch, RGP facilitated training to upskill staff on core banking and functional skills, preparing them to engage with stakeholders using the Capability Assessment Methodology.
