About This Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead high-impact finance initiatives within the banking sector. This role requires a strong foundation in Accounting and Finance, combined with proven leadership capabilities to oversee cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects that strengthen financial operations, compliance, reporting, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments, demonstrates strong stakeholder management, and can successfully navigate ambiguity while driving accountability and results. This is a hybrid role requiring two days on-site, collaborating closely with teams across Finance, Accounting, IT, Compliance, and Operations.
What you will work on
Lead and oversee end-to-end delivery of complex finance and accounting projects within a banking environment, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
Manage and mentor a team of Project Managers, Finance Analysts, and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
Define project scope, goals, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation in partnership with stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, IT, Compliance, and Operations.
Drive project execution from initiation through completion, proactively identifying risks, mitigating issues, and ensuring successful outcomes within deadlines.
Ensure adherence to banking regulations, financial reporting standards, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
Deliver clear and effective communication of project progress, risks, dependencies, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to optimize financial processes through automation, transformation initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and manage third-party vendors when required to ensure project success.
Promote continuous improvement and help strengthen governance, controls, and project execution frameworks across financial functions.
What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA, PMP, CFA, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
8+ years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting within the Banking industry, with proven experience leading strategic finance projects.
Strong knowledge of banking regulations, financial reporting, governance, risk management, and internal controls.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives while balancing priorities in fast-paced environments.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams, driving accountability and measurable outcomes.
Strong expertise in project management methodologies, stakeholder management, and executive communication.
Experience with financial transformation, automation, or process optimization projects is highly preferred.
Familiarity with financial systems, reporting tools, and project management platforms.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
A highly adaptable and self-directed mindset, with strong emotional intelligence, frustration tolerance, ambiguity management, flexibility, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
