The Challenge

Upon announcing an acquisition, the Client sought a partner to design and implement an operating model for its merger integration office to ensure proper governance of all merger-related activities. The executive management team needed support to navigate merger planning and execution before the deal closed and to ensure the merger’s expected value was realized through preliminary planning. RGP developed the operating model and communication structure, led strategic planning, managed day-to-day operations of the central program office, and provided ongoing program management for multiple integration workstreams across business and technology.

What We Did

RGP deployed a team of business and technology M&A experts and strategy consultants to design and implement an operating model for the merger integration office. The team defined roles and responsibilities, developed communication and governance structures, and created reporting tools and templates to support ongoing activities. With the operating model in place, RGP took on the management of the central merger integration office, overseeing strategic planning, execution, day-to-day activities, PMO tools, reporting, and continuous improvement. Senior experts also provided strategic advisory and delivery support across all program management offices within the integration framework.
