About This Role
Engagement Type - Short-term, defined-scope contractor engagement
Location - Europe / Remote
Contract Duration - Expected to support the localisation build and UAT phases from approximately October/November 2026 through the April/May 2027 go-live/cutover, with a possible short-term post-go-live hypercare period.
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on D365 F&O Localisation Lead Consultant to support the implementation and localisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for European entities in Switzerland, Spain and Italy.
The role will focus on the configuration and delivery of country-specific D365 localisation functionality, particularly around VAT, statutory reporting and electronic invoicing.
External tax/compliance advisors, including Big4, will support statutory and tax compliance requirements. The successful consultant will therefore be responsible for translating those requirements into practical D365 F&O configuration and supporting the implementation through UAT and go-live.
This is a hands-on specialist role and is particularly suited to someone with proven D365 F&O localisation experience across multiple European countries.
What You Will Work On
• Support localisation requirements across Spain, Switzerland and/or Italy.
• Configure and support relevant country-specific functionality, including:
o Spain – SII (Immediate Supply of Information) / VAT reporting
o Switzerland – Swiss VAT configuration and reporting
o Italy – SDI / electronic invoicing
• Work closely with tax/compliance advisors to understand statutory requirements and translate them into D365 configuration.
• Partner with the data migration workstream to ensure tax and localisation-relevant data is correctly extracted, mapped and loaded into D365.
• Validate tax-related master and transactional data as part of migration activities.
• Support the preparation and execution of localisation-specific UAT scenarios.
• Investigate and resolve configuration issues identified during testing and go-live.
• Work with business and finance stakeholders to validate that the configured solution meets local requirements.
• Produce clear and comprehensive configuration and process documentation.
• Support knowledge transfer and handover to local finance teams and the BAU support team in Australia.
• Provide post-go-live support during the potential hypercare period.
What You Will Bring
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Proven experience delivering D365 F&O implementations, rollouts or localisation projects.
• Strong functional/configuration knowledge of D365 Finance.
European Localisation
Preferred: Hands-on localisation configuration experience in at least two of the following:
• Spain – SII / Spanish VAT reporting
• Switzerland – Swiss VAT
• Italy – SDI / Italian electronic invoicing
Candidates with deep, demonstrable expertise in one of the above areas will also be considered.
Bonus – not required:
• Additional hands-on experience with Nordic, Benelux or French D365 localisation would be considered a plus.
• This experience is not required and should not be considered a prerequisite for the role.
Additional Experience
• Experience working with data migration teams and validating tax/localisation-related data.
• Experience supporting UAT, defect resolution and go-live/cutover activities.
• Strong documentation and knowledge-transfer skills.
• Experience working with external tax/compliance advisors such as PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG or equivalent.
• Comfortable working independently within a short, time-bound project.
• Experience supporting post-go-live hypercare is desirable.
Location, Time Zone & Travel Requirements
• The role is based in Europe and will work closely with colleagues and the wider project team in Australia.
• Candidates must be comfortable working with different time zones and demonstrate flexibility when coordinating with the Australian team.
• Some meetings and project activities may require adjusted working hours to accommodate Australian business hours.
• Initial travel to Australia for approximately 1–2 weeks may be required at the beginning of the project to support project mobilisation, planning and collaboration with the Australian team.
• Candidates should therefore be comfortable with occasional international travel and working across geographically distributed teams.
Language Requirements
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Additional European language capability is highly desirable, particularly:
o Italian
o Spanish
o German
o French
What You Can Expect
• Variety of workplace arrangements including hybrid, remote, onsite.
• Compensation commensurate with consultant qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.
• An inspirational place for you to do your best work, be engaged in meaningful ways, and continually develop the skills, competencies, and qualities that set our team apart.
