About This Role
We are seeking a hands-on, operational Controller to join our finance leadership team. This is not a traditional back-office Controller role—we need a builder who can design scalable processes, optimize financial systems, and integrate acquired entities in a fast-growing, multi-entity environment. You’ll report directly to the CFO and partner closely with executive leadership to position us for continued national expansion.
Work Location: 3-4 days on-site near Aberdeen Township, New Jersey
Duration: 6+ months
Pay Rate Range: $100/hr-$120/hr
What You Will Work On
- Own financial accuracy & compliance: Manage multi-entity close processes, GAAP compliance, and internal controls.
- Lead system optimization: Act as in-house expert for ERP and expense/AP platforms, driving automation and AI-enabled efficiencies.
- Build scalable infrastructure: Implement processes that support organic growth and acquisitions.
- Partner with operations: Deliver actionable financial insights, support budgeting/forecasting, and build KPI dashboards.
- Support M&A: Assist with due diligence, onboarding, and financial integration.
- Lead & develop teams: Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
What You Will Bring
- Active CPA and Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years progressive accounting/finance experience (5+ as Controller or similar)
- Strong background in accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Hands-on NetSuite expertise and proficiency with AP platforms (Ramp, Bill.com)
- Experience implementing automation or AI tools in finance
- Proven ability to scale accounting processes in a multi-entity environment
- Strong leadership and executive communication skills
- Willingness to travel as needed (Utah and Georgia)
- Private equity-backed or high-growth healthcare experience, preferred
- Prior Big 4 or national audit firm experience, preferred
- Experience with acquisition integration, multi-location operations, and distributed teams, preferred
