About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Accountant to support payroll accounting activities for our US and Canadian entities. This is not a payroll processing role—instead, you will focus on journal entries, account reconciliations, and participation in close activities while working closely with Finance and HR teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness in payroll-related accounting.
Work Location: Up to 2 days on-site Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 6+ months
Pay Rate Range: $70/hr-$80/hr
What You Will Work On
- Perform payroll accounting activities for U.S. and Canada entities, including:
oPreparation and posting of journal entries.
oReconciliation of payroll-related accounts.
oSupporting month-end and quarter-end close activities.
- Ensure accurate recording of payroll expenses and related liabilities.
- Partner with Accounting on variance analysis and reporting.
- Drive process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and automation.
- Leverage technology to enhance accuracy; experience with AI-based automation considered a strong differentiator.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll-related accounting issues.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of payroll accounting experience (US and Canada exposure preferable).
- Proficient in UKG Pro/Ultipro, required.
- Proficient in SAP, preferred.
- Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and tight deadlines.
