The CFO’s mandate is rapidly evolving beyond traditional finance leadership to encompass technology strategy, AI adoption, operational transformation, and enterprise-wide decision-making. According to RGP’s research, three in four CFOs report that their influence over enterprise-wide decisions has grown significantly in the past two years, with the majority expecting that influence to continue expanding. As organizations seek to modernize finance operations, improve decision-making through data and analytics, and unlock greater value from technology investments, leaders with deep experience at the intersection of finance, transformation, and technology have become increasingly critical. Wilson’s appointment reflects RGP’s commitment to helping CFOs navigate this new era of digital finance leadership.

“As CFO influence over technology investments and digital strategy grows, so too does the urgency to create efficiencies and get results faster,” said Scott Rottmann, President of Consulting Services at RGP. “Scott Wilson is an accomplished leader who has helped organizations transform complex challenges into actionable strategies with measurable improvement in highly regulated environments. We are thrilled to welcome him to RGP as we continue to expand our scalable solutions across the digital transformation lifecycle.”

Wilson brings over two decades of experience to the new role, with a track record of driving large-scale transformation initiatives and leveraging emerging technologies to improve operational performance, accelerate growth, and enhance business outcomes.

“AI and analytics are reshaping enterprise decision-making and placing more pressure on CFOs to generate faster insights,” said Wilson. “Yet, many finance leaders find themselves navigating technology investments that have not delivered ROI, while also battling a lack of standardization and system capabilities that are not being fully utilized. I’m excited to join RGP to help CFOs meet the demands of the future.”

Prior to joining RGP, Wilson served as a Partner at consultancy RSM, where he led transformation, growth, innovation, and performance improvement strategies for clients across multiple industries. He previously held leadership positions at KPMG and Deloitte and earned his PhD in Engineering at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Technology Management.
