The Challenge
After successfully acquiring a major financial institution, the Client sought guidance and hands-on support in migrating the multi-billion-dollar investment portfolio of the acquired company into a consolidated portfolio with the acquirer. The Client needed assistance in coordinating a complex migration across multiple platforms and disciplines, including portfolio management, investment accounting, collateral management, middle office functions, back-office settlement, and custodian services. The portfolio contained various asset classes, including securities hedged against derivative products and pledged in borrowing.

What We Did
RGP deployed a team of experienced technology consultants with expertise in business and data analysis, project management, and operational workflow to define migration procedures across all platforms and coordinate end-to-end testing. The team developed a phased migration approach with before-and-after reconciliation procedures to ensure synchronization across platforms and address anomalies during the process. Robust governance was implemented, ensuring each phase of the migration began only after formal clearance. RGP also provided detailed metrics of expected versus actual results to communicate progress to all levels of management.
