When a leading events organizer owned by a mega private equity fund acquired a privately-held events and B2B media and marketing services company, RGP collaborated with them to drive the post-close activity and separation strategy.

After acquiring another events company, our Client needed help integrating as well as divesting select acquired assets, as they did not have the knowledge or resources to take on a deal of this magnitude and complexity.

What We Did

  • Provided a strong operational M&A leader to manage the integration and separation processes.
  • Partnered with our Client’s leadership team and key stakeholders in Europe and the US, as well as those in the acquired company.
  • Developed the strategy and approach for handling the separation of assets and employees.
  • Identified key risks, change impacts and mitigating solutions to address potential disruptions.

Impact

  • Acted as the “transaction quarterback” and was heavily involved at the functional level to drive planning and execution.
  • Played an instrumental role in driving the post-close activity and handling post-separation issues.
  • Minimized business disruption and managed integration and separation execution within proposed operational timeline.
